Anyone else have the 'flu?

Day three for me...if it is the 'flu, and I do not know what it is, might have been some food poisoning...had a couple 'iffy' restaurant meals over the week-end.

Extrordinary 'chills' and shaking and all round general global aches and pains...no fever though.

Spent a few hours today sleeping in my 'Arctic' Sleeping bag, fully clothed, wrapped like a 'Mummy' in a thermal-blanket, with the whole thing sealed snug around my neck, cinched up with the draw string, with an Ear-covering 'thick' Wool Knit Cap on, and a Towell rumpled around my neck, and ROASTED in there for four or five hours I guess, slept like-a-Baby in fact, but when I woke up I thought immediately "Jeeeeeeze, I bet I am pushing 106 or more in here, and might just be a good idea to give this ROASTING deal a breather...and I was "HOT" too, Hotter than the parted underfeathers of a Pigeon anyway ( and it felt SO goot to be WARM!!! ) ...and what's wierd, no perspiraiton, or none like there should have been! My layerd clothes, had next to no humidity at all. Just a little condensation on the underside of the sleeping Bag down by my Feet, and I checked, too.

I have done the same thing last three nights too...so, if it a Virus, maybe it is effecting my Hypothalmus, or, I dunno, but it is wierd.

I'll be okay-enough for a little while, then, if I have stood or sat still a moment, soon as I move an-inch, the shakes and super chills and MAJOR Big-Time aches start in, almost impossible to even walk when it gets like that.

Anyway, of the few people I know here, most of them have been sick with Lung-infection-problems, and Bronchial problems, or other wierd illness-problems, and not with whatever I have.

How 'bout you?

I hope everyone IS Healthy and keeping Warm..!

Rare for me to get a 'bug', but, can happen.

I keep thinking it was a Hamburger I had...and I doubt I have had four Hanburgers in the last seven or eight years, but I had a craving for one, went to an old time all night little Greasy Spoon dive around the corner, and have kept suspecting it did this to me!

Serves me right I guess...if it did...

Yeeeeeesh...

Mia Culpa, Mia Culpa, Mia Culpa...

Lol...

Best wishes...

Phil

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Phil.
I had a bad flu a couple of months ago and it lasted two weeks.

Sure sounds like you've been hit bad Phil I'm no nurse, but it doesn't sound like food poisoning to me... not going on three days anyway. The fact that you didn't sweat at all wrapped up the way you were has me a concerned though -- you're body needs to regulate it's temp. Maybe a trip to the Dr.??? Hope you feel better very soon! The chills and achiness are the worst

I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad, Phil, I do hope you get better soon. Please make sure to see a doctor if you don't get better today. I can't imagine flu like symptoms without a fever.

My son David, came down with a headache-behind the eyes-sensitivity to light, chills, high fever, and aches and pains all over...but no sore throat or cough at all. I have been taking care of him since late Friday. First I thought it was menigites (scary thought), then mono, then the flu-because he talked to a friend who had it and he said everybody was getting it.

He was over it Sunday morning, because I started him on colostrum, two caps every hour for 10 hours on Saturday. I just happened to find the formula on an information sheet I received on the product on Saturday night. I also gave him alot of other supportive things, including lots of fluids.

I started coming down with it yesterday morning, headache behind my eyes-pounding on the side of my head, and started the same dosage and I'm fine today.

Well in my house it started with my daughter Beth before she went to her Dads to live she had full on stuffy nose, aches, headache behind the eyes, fever, then to my son Ryan who had chills but no fever, cough, headache, sore throat, then to Darren my husband High fever, headache, endless cough that stil hasn't left after 2 weeks (it's driving me crazy at night) now to me with stuffy head, cough, kind of achey. My Mom had the trots for 2 days and couldn't get warm and just waiting for Dad it's his turn now but no symptoms as of yet. It just lingers around and seems to like my family as it won't go away, just like a bad flea on a dog. ~~ Hope everyone is feeling better real soon this stuff bites real bad.

PMV, Phil. You've been around the birds so long that...

Sweat might evaporate out there in the desert too much to accumulate. You've got a thermometer, don'tcha'?

Would you believe that a bad UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) will give you very similar symptoms? Fever, chills, body aches... Might be time for the doctor.

Well, feeling much better today...slept a lot yesterday in my Artic 'Mummy' bag, never did get any fever whatever, but, REALLY making sure I was snugged up to keep the heat in and let it climb, I woke up this morning with my clothes soaking wet, so, I did finally perspire anyway, and managing to be so 'warm' in the Sleeping Bag, maybe did the trick.

Showered and got into fresh clothes and the long underwear, sweat shirt, flannel shirt, levis and sweater I had slept in, were just amaingly "heavy" with moisture, you could literally wring them out!

No 'chills' or shakes or aches today, but, I do feel a little 'delicate'...

Making fresh Carrot Juice and other nice things to hydrate...

Good luck everyone else with whatever your versions are!

Yeeeeeesh, most of my friends here in las vegas have been sick for weeks with much more symptoms.

So, I sure hope this is about it then as for me and whatever this thing is/was...

Love,

Phil

Wishing you ALL THE BEST, PHIL and all other members who are feeling under the weather!

Am feeling a slight scratchy throat and have been drinking liquids, especially an herb tea that friends told me about called Gypsy Cold Cure. Great stuff!! I AM WINNING!

BTW, don't forget about heating/cooling vents. Had mine checked some years ago and had MOLD! The guy wanted to why I wasn't in the hospital!

Love and Hugs

Phil, I have been worrying about you all day because I know your place is so large it is hard to heat. One product I really like is Mucinex DM for congestion. I have a lot of problems with recurring bronchitis and it really helps.

I hope you'll continue to feel better. Got anyone who can check on you from time to time? I worry, you know, because you are one of my most favorite people!

Yep, my bf came home with this from work last week and has been really stuffy-nosed since, tired and cranky lol. Saturday and Sunday I just felt like sleeping and had a bit of a scratchy throat, so I caught a few hours extra of sleep, but it pretty much went away. I must have a really good immune system, I rarely get as sick as the rest of the fam, lucky me. Whenever I do feel off though (headache, tummy ache, scratchy throat), I get a fever pretty immediately and I think it just burns out whatever's there rather quickly. I always drink a lot of water anyway but add more fluids too which probably helps. So I hope everyone else is feeling better soon too.
