"clone free" please!

But public opinion has been negative on the issue, with some saying that not enough safety studies have been conducted and others concerned about the health of the clones, which are far more likely than ordinary farm animals to die early in life.

Of particular concern, she said, was that even though the vast majority of clones die either before birth or soon after, those that survive are deemed normal.

Others have called for mandatory labeling so consumers can avoid products from clones.

The FDA has said that lacking any safety concerns, it will not demand such labels.

I wonder what the label would look like for clone free.
I'm not for cloning.

What Gets Me is You'll Pay More For That Cloned Animal. I think they sould Just Stick with Pasture Breed Animals. Cloning Is Only To Make the Same Animal. The Picture On There Site Is A very Nice Looking Dairy Cow. But If They Would have breed her To a great Sire They May Get A much Better Dairy Cow.
I'm Not For Cloning. They Aren't Making Anymore Animals Faster So I Don't See Were They Have Done Anything. Other Then Make A twin.

I will stay away from it, I think it is definitely degraded meat as is so much of our food supply. Best to eat mother nature's home grown.

It should be labeled as we have the right to know the source.

I don't eat meat but my friends here that do are talking a lot about this topic. Some say that if the meat is not labeled they will go vegetarian. That would be great regardless!

I think It May Only Be Safe To Eat What You Raise Or Grow The Thougth Of What May Be in The Store Food scares Me. Plus If People did Raise And Grow There Own Food Think Of The Money You Could Save.

A week later and I finally hear about it on our local news. They did not talk about the death rate of the cloned animals. This stuff should be labeled so we at least have an option, a right to make a choice.

Uhg! Those "people" drive me crazy.

Cloned animals have a shorter than normal life expectancy, and have many health problems. Why clone animals to a life of suffering. Cripes, the way normal animals are processed for our tables is nasty enough.

There is a lot of genetically "modified" food in our stores, the only difference between this and mother nature's own, is that food that is not genetically modified will say certified organic. This may be the only way we will be able to determine the cloned meat from "mother nature's own" meat. While genetically modified or cloned may not have to be labeled to distinguish it, organic meat will still be labeled CERTIFIED ORGANIC, but you still will not be able to determine the difference between the meat you have always eaten and the new cloned meat.

But . . . what about all those cloned fruits and vegetables and plants we surround ourselves with all the time and, yes, eat.

If you haven't grown it, or it doesn't say CERTIFIED, then chances are it is genetically modified.

My sons are raising their own chickens now, and they are feeding them pesticide free seed and using no hormones and allowing them to walk around freely when they are home. That is one way to know what you are getting.
