Eagle Cam

A friend sent me this link through an e-mail.

http://chil.vcoe.org/eagle_cam.htm

Only problem with the cam is that it opens on Windows Media Viewer which is kinda a pain but when I recently checked one of the parents was on the nest.

I got to see both of them! That's pretty neat. The eggs must be very uncomfortable to sit on - the eagle in the nest kept shifting around endlessly.

I think this is the same eagle nest posted last year, I used to watch it, they're just amazing. It's so cool that someone set this up. Thanks for sharing, Maggie.

Thanks Maggie,

I have to try again tomorrow. All I see is a black screen, and I hear night sounds. They must be sleeping now.

Dearest Maggie,

I finally remembered to turn the link on when it is light outside. Don't they have a beautiful nest? At least one of them must have a degree in interior decorating. Because of the time, I am guessing that it is the female that is on the nest this morning. She is just gorgeous!

There was a thread last year but a storm blew through and the eaglets did not make it.
I was just thinking about those guys and was going to try to track that link down, Thanks for posting it.

It's addicting!

I found the link but I don't see anything.

Kippy, I believe this webcam is in CA. The one year before last was in Vancouver, BC. and had the world watching them. This is a link to the guy who provides the webcam for the Vancouver eagles as well as many other webcams. According to his update in January, the camera was not put back up last year because it was damaged by storms but the eagles did successfully raise one little eaglet. Wouldn't you know it would happen? Still, even tho we couldn't watch I'm very glad one baby survived.

Anyhow, this is the link so we can all check it out from time to time. This goes to the guy's main page.

Treesa had a direct link last year for Maine.
I checked the blog, apparently there is a storm in Maine and the lense is iced over. This is the one I watched last year.

I'm going to have Eagle cam live all over my desk top, east coast and west coast. I love it!

Do you think she'd be freaked out if she knew how many eyes are watching? Very cool but kind of makes me feel like a Peeping Jane!

Peeping Jane???

Just wait until you start seeing those biddy babies being fed and cared for and no one will be able to pry you away from the screen until they have flown the nest...months later.

Its nice to have one on the east coast and one on the west coast. I just checked the one in CA and I guess the mama is on the nest now. The nest is so neat and well built.

Our red shouldered hawk couple mated in a big oak tree in our backyard the first of the week so I guess she'll be sitting eggs soon if not already. This is the second year we have watched them mate and they did it in the same exact location each time. I think they believe our yard is their home and that's fine by me. I just wish they'd bring their babies by to say hello but they never have even though we've provided a lot of their food over the years. Yesterday, the female was drinking from one of the birdbaths and there was a squirrel eating seed less than 10 feet away and neither was concerned with the other.

Agree, I did have the west coast one on for the rest of the day. It had a better visual and I love the back ground sounds.

The east coast one I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I had that cam on all weekends last year.

Last year I had a friend put it on their computer at work. Now I'm at desk so will see how much trouble I can get myself into.

That would be neat to hook your Oak tree up with a video cam.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Is it me or are they having problems?

Looks like the nest is full of snow.

Kippy, I think it is the site. I tried to bring it up just before I logged in to the forum and the server timed out. We use Mozilla Thunderbird.

Also, I can't see anything going on in Maine - looks to me like snow is on top of the nest?

It would be nice to get a picture of the hawks mating but, it is over in the blink of an eye. Don't know how we've been so lucky the last two years to see them.
