I am so ANGRY I could spit fireEver been so angry you could spit fire or give a glare that it could turn someone into charcoal? This month must be the month from hell! It starts out like this: 1st my ex starts with me and our divorce has already cost me $17000.00 over 7 years. Now he has won custody of our 14 yr old cause the grass is greener over there, 2nd there are always money issues at Christmas, 3rd and last The vet who quoted me $100.00 to take the wing off the baby bird with all the broken bones well she just called she earlier quoted me $100.00 now she has raised her price to $150.00-200.00. I don't understand how people can justify their actions and people wonder why todays society doesn't trust people. She claims that is pretty cheap, I beg to differ. I still haven't told the adopter yet so I need to let her know. I don't know if she is going to want to do it still or not. So for now Spirits life is hanging by a thread.
 Sorry I just had to vent, as this bird has been soo patient with all her broken bones the damn vet is going to screw things over for her. Cindy

I'm sorry to hear things are so rough, Cindy.
It seems like this month has been bad for a lot of people, I really hope the new year will bring better times for you and that the adopter doesn't mind the extra cost.

Uhh... If this is the bird that I'm thinking it is, it might not be necessary to spend the money and take the wing off in the first place. I'm going to take and post a picture of a bird that I've got in the loft that has a non-union in the humerus. He gets along just fine. I'd like to compare notes with Cindy.

Yes Pidgey this is the same bird. All her bones have healed up but the wing bones were shattered. Without the tape holding the wing in place it hangs way down and she steps on it continually. Pulling at it with her weight. I have the other baby from Flint, Mi and Hilly is going to adopt her/him as well, which is good as they seem to get along so good and eat together and sleep next to each other in separate cages.

Cindy, I am so sorry you have problems with your ex. Is the custody matter final? I hope not.

Unfortunately it is. She leaves here after this semester ends on Jan. 18th. Her Dad buys her love and treats my son like crap. The worst has to be the endless mindgames and lies. The 13 years of Mental and verbal abuse was enough for me and I would have rather been physically abused then what he does. I am remarried now for 7 years to a Terrific man from Adelaide South Australia and he admires the fact that I save birds and animals and helps me accomplish what the Ex wouldn't help me with at all. The Ex was also very physically abusive to our pets as well including Pesto who when I wasn't looking would hold her beak shut so he could watch her struggle to breath. He is a SOB, and a Bastard. Sorry for the harsh words but I hate the man as even after being divorced from him for 8 years he still plays mind games.
