Thank you on behalf of all moderators. I to have visited such places, and with the Internet, people say and do things that they would never do or say in person. Which is why we have rules and moderators which try very hard to keep things civil. Without such things, it quickly turns into a wildwest freak show, and little positive comes out of it. PT here is a very rare, one of a kind type of place, not only the largest, but the best in the world.

Some ppl are really rude, disrespectful of culture and even religious views. They too have moderators but i really wonder what the moderators are doing.

This forum is very well moderated.

Twice I have joined other forums (not pigeon ones) and left within a day, without posting, because there was some sort of really nasty fight going on. What made it so distasteful was that in both cases the people fighting were not trolls or troublemakers but long term active members, with (presumably) the same interests and convictions.

It is a nice forum. We may occasionally have our little ups and downs but there is not a single member or moderator that I don't hold in the highest esteem.

I love this forum!!! I have wanted a pigeon for a long time and when my fella got my babies I searched the web to just learn more (i think you can never learn enough). Well i happened across this forum and started reading, (waiting to post) I have learned so much! I usually avoid forums for the reasons mentioned above, and never post due to critisism (some act like you should have already known the answer). But i have posted here and got great responses very fast! seems like so many truely want to help! SO THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY MEMBER FOR BEING KIND AND FRIENDLY! I will be here everyday! I don't feel nervous about asking a question here! I used to run an adoption shelter and always reassured my clients that the only stupid question was the one not asked!

Thanks Again

I love this forum too. I learned so much here in such a short time. EVeryone is so supportive and compassionate.

This forum is indeed one of the best ones. I've also been a part of NUMEROUS forums during the last 10 years online.

For the most part, the members here are decent, honest respectable people who care deeply for wildlife, animals and yes, humans.

The moderators do a great job "policing" the site.

My opinion is, that this is the ONLY bird/animal/wildlife forum on the net that I will ever continue to maintain relationships with. The only forum that I genuinely care about.

Talking

I didn't know about this forum until about a year ago. Terry told me about it and I still have to pinch myself that there are so many genuine and caring people out there who even when disagreeing manage to keep it in bounds. When I first began, I was a pain in the B*** several times, for which I am now quite sorry. No one really gave me a bad time about it and they would have been within their rights to do so. I have learned from you, cried with you, laughed till I cried with you and love each of you for your uniqueness and caring. It is the only forum I've ever been on that has these qualities and I hope it goes on forever. Moderators, you have a tough job at times and always pop up as the voice of reason when any of us get swept away in the passion of the topic at hand. I thank each of you for your dedication and the time you volunteer to keep things rolling along. And where else could I belong to a special group for being so nosey?

Love and Hugs,
Margaret

BEST FORUM EVER!!!! And coming from Craigslist, which is the only site I had to talk to others about animals. . . .this is even more so the best site!!!! The thing I enjoy above all is the lack of arguing. Once in a long while we'll have a thread that gets a little fired up, but other than that everyone gets along so well. It is really awesome.

And Margaret, I never thought you were a pain in the anything. We're very glad to have you.

Well, I'm probably the only one here w/out pigeons past or present (just visitors); however, the friendly relations and the behind-scenes (for the most part) moderating has kept me here. I discovered this place on the recommendation of folks when I had fancy pigeon visitors and wanted more info. If it weren't for the welcome, the continued efforts on all the members to keep a civil tone, the administrators and moderators to accomodate and help the members, I never would have stayed around after my visitors left. I may not have pigeons but I have become a pigeon advocate, and I hope, made some positive contributions to their cause, and it would not have happened without this world-wide internet community of Pigeon-Talkers.

Seems I can't get enough!

Hello all, I just wanted to say that I, too, feel this is the best board for information I have found yet. I am still amazed at the wealth of information here. I just can't seem to get enough. Believe me, whenever I "think" I have heard it all, I read on a post and think, "I didn't know that! " I am always learning something here, and am soooooo glad you have this forum going.
There is always someone talking about something that benefits someone somewhere. I haven't seem any arguing in the short time I have been on here, but this is the first site I visit every day, and the last at night! Like I said, so much information, and so little time!! A HUGE thank you to Renee for the link! Snowbird Sue
