Take them in or what?

Eh...nothing much to say but there's one thing I've had on my mind for a while. But first, I haven't been able to log in and post from my computer due to a few problems until that's solved I've been using a lap top in my sister's room. I also went to see the Danny Gans comedy show with my folks on Tuesday it was hilarious! no pigeon related jokes though. I'll post details later.

Anyway getting back on topic, I know I've mentioned there might be pigeons in the attic of the town house I live in. I couldn't go up there recently cause my rib went out and I had a few days were my back really hurt

I plan to check up there soon now that I'm healed...but I do have one question if I do find eggs up there and the parents have left(i.e. have abandoned them) should I take them in and care for them or what?

I was just curious incase I happen to find some eggs that have been left. Though the attic is warm cause the blowers for our heating system is up there it does get cold outside usually down to the low 30s.

Aside from that, while my sister was in Israel they released a homing pigeon!

they tied a note to it and let it go, the next day the people in her group got a call that the pigeon was ok, I'm guessing the call was probably from it's owners.

Hi BD,

If you find eggs in the attic but no parents, you can candle the eggs to see if they are developing. If they are not developing, I would discard the eggs. Don't forget to look for how the birds are getting in while you're up in the attic. If there are no birds in residence, you should try to close off whatever opening they are using to get in.

I'm glad that pigeon in Israel turned out OK.

If the eggs were good, all depending how much time I had on my hands I might keep and raise a couple babies then turn them loose when they're able to fend for themselves. I have a personal policy against throwing away developing eggs that I know are destined to hatch.

Finally found a way!

Finally found another way to get up to the attic!

I found out the yard stick thaat 's been in your downstairs closet for....who knows how long is long enough to where I can push the attic door open and get up there!

I plan to try it out soon to see if it ACTUALLY works.

Anything else I should know about before I attempt to get up there again?

(I'm hoping not to run into spiders...*shudders* )

May have found baby pigeon...

While heading back to the house today on the landscape by a preschool next door to our town house complex I saw something in the rocks. It looked sort of pink with yellow streaks . Our car went by so quick I couldn't get a good look , but I'll check it again when I go back out. If my Dad & I go to walk Bentley & Rudy today I might be able to get a better, if turns out to be a baby pigeon I'll try to get it. But I have a feeling it's probably just a rock.
