AGSG banded pigeons.

Were AGSG bands only used by the Pigeon King International breeders?
I bought some really nice red, black, yellow and white Trenton racing homers last year and many of them have AGSG bands.
The bands they are wearing fit much more loosely than sealed basnds normally do.

To my knowledge only Pigeon King used AGSG bands. There were a raft of new AGSG birds turning up this week in Pennsylvania. I've encouraged the finders to post here in the AGSG Adoption forum but don't see any of them yet.

Were there all sorts of breeds of pigeons in the program?
About 2 years ago, a friend of mine got a card from Pigeon King International addressed to his Mother, who had moved off the farm, touting all their supposed money making potential.
I told him there was no way somebody was going to pay that much money for pigeons unless they were out of proven racing stock and only in relatively small numbers.
A lot of the Trentons that were AGSG banded, that I purchased, made it into my breeding program.

Apparently so .. we've seen pictures of racing pigeons, rollers, and fancy pigeons, so I guess anything went at the time. So very sad for all these birds and for the people finding them.

I have found a pigeon ... looks like a light grizzle Roller or HighFlyer of some kind ... with an AGSG Band ...

What association is the AGSG ... and how can I go about finding its owner ...?

We won't be able to locate the owner of the bird. If you read the whole story of the AGSG pigeons you will see why that is.

If you are unable to keep the pigeon, we can try to help you find a home for it. Where are you located?

Thank you Terry ... I found it after I posted ...!!! Some story ...!!! ... although back in nthe late '60s an exactly similar scam occurred with Chinchilas ...!!!

I will find him the right caring home ... I am from Toronto and I breed Spanish Pouters.
