AGSG Bird - Romney W. VA

I am in WV and last Tuesday a beautiful mocha colored pidgeon showed up at my house. A friend caught him and I got the band number. I want to find out the bird's story and reconnect it with its owner. How do I do that? Please call me at home 304-822-5571.

Kim I honestly think its a lot safer for you to post the band numbers here than to give out your home number that quick, Renee (Lovebirds) or someone else from PT can trace the owner and let you know right away who and where is the bird from...

Hi Kim,

Thank you so much for assisting this pigeon. There is no way for us to locate the owner of the bird. If you read the whole sad and sordid story of these AGSG birds, you will understand.

Basically, the bird is yours if you want it, and if not, please post back here, and we'll help you find a good home for it. Sadly, these AGSG birds have nowhere to go ..

kim!
what's the news on the pij? i'm about 4 hours north of you --- let me know if you can't find anyone closer or don't want to keep the birdling, and feel like driving a couple hours north.

i could meet you somewhere halfway.

if you're okay with birds and have thought about keeping it as a house bird - pigeons make unbelievably great, smart and sweet pets. seriously.

don't let it just 'go' though, kings are NOT your regular pigeons, and do NOT do well in the great outdoors, if nothing else, they're poor flyers and pretty much doomed to being eaten by something. i'd rather do a little driving than know the bird faced a worse fate than he's already had to date.

do keep us updated, and photos are always good too!

Hi Lizz (always love seeing your posts - your signature photo always makes me feel warm & fuzzy )... I noticed that Kim doesn't appear a regular registered user so I'm not sure she gets emails about responses to her post. Might want to give her a call directly if you can help out. I'd be willing to bet she's not aware (yet) of the AGSG story.

Hope everything is going well with you!!

hihi Liz , just wanted you to know that "KINGS" and the Pigeon King pigeons are not the same breed ... the pigeon king birds were a high flyer/homer crossed bird and they can fly pretty well but as for fairing well in the wilds it would surely do a much better job then a king ,thou Im not saying they belong out there in the wilds though

Lizz...that's a good idea. I don't know if she has been back on since her first post. I noticed she posted her phone number.
It's simple wonderful of you to be willing to make a road trip.
