    Hi,
I am new to the site. Yesterday I found a pigeon in my backyard and it couldn't fly. It's wings flew all the way open but could not get far off the ground. I waited a while to make sure this was true and a couple of hours later she was still there. I fed her, but the hawks were around and I couldn't leave her out there. She is on my deck right now safe from hawks. From all I've read (I know nothing about pigeons) I would like to get her diagnosed so I know what to do and where to take her. I don't want her in the wrong hands or put down because she can't fly. Unfortunately I've got many animals here and I can't take in the pigeon. If you have any suggestions at all I would be truly grateful. I'm in the Boston area.

Hi, I hope its okay I'm emailing you on here. I saw a thread where you wrote about looking after birds with Aspergillosis. Can you please let me know what the symptoms you've experienced are with birds?

How long does this disease last, progress over days, weeks, months?

I've had a pigeon with respiratory issues since early July, gradually getting more frequent, and am worried it might be Aspergillosis.

I appreciate your help heaps, thankyou! :(

I was told u live in MA i have a sick pigeon and the vet told me if i bring it to him they will keep it cuz its wild and its against law for me to have it. I asked if i do surrender him what will they do with him and his reply was once hes better if hes tamed then we will have to put him down. So i will not take him there but i also dont want him sick either. He did vomit sunday but stopped hes been eating and drinking but now his droppings were first lime green now they are darker green with water...any help please let me know. He acts fine minus the droppings...

Hello, Altgirl35. I am so honoured that you decided to use my poem on facebook. I do not go on facebook because I do not trust the security there so I did not read the poem there. Is there any way you could e-mail a copy of it to me? I would like to see it from there. Also, dear, I am wondering if you could tell me what you think could have made little Dunk so sick so soon? He got sick the day after he was dewormed. Charis tells me that if he had a lot of worms that died off in the treatment, he may have developed an infection, or he may have had damage to his vital organs. It is strange that he suddenly went into seizures the morning of his death. He had been placed on antibiotics, and as given 2 anti-seizure shots but died in the vet's hand. I am wondering if the deworming shot was too much for him, an overdose, maybe? He was eating very enthusiasticly right up till when I took him in, but the inside of his mouth has taken on a paleness, as did the sides of his beak. He was alert, but not his peppy, exploring self (a little offish). Is there anything more that you could tell me from this? also, I still have some paper towels with his poops on it. Would a picture sent to you tell you anything? I am just so heartbroken and I am having a real hard time accepting this, as I had him so long, from July 31-August 13. We were so bonded. I just cannot believe his little feet will never sit on his little basket perch ever again and his little stone water dish sits there. He loved his "wah-wah" sips from it. How he loved his "meat-meat ball balls...." God, I miss him LOL
