Thanks for your help on how much to feed a baby pigeon. Mine weights 100g and is two weeks old. Is that underweight? I've viewed the website you sent me the link for several times. Its great but id quite like to know an exact amount (or as close as possible anyway). I know you should feed until the crop is full but I'm not very good at knowing where the crop is or what it should feel like. I have heard you should feed it 10% of its body weight but that looks like next to nothing. Thanks

You can give them 1 tablespoon of vinegar to one gallon of water, but this may not be beneficial as the ACV is.
Never give raw garlic to a bird, put less of the raw garlic in the water, until they drink it or buy real garlic capsules.

Hi Sky, I still cant get my hands on some ACV. But I was able to buy white vinegar. Its ingredients are 100% natural fermented coconut sap vinegar and antioxidant. It says 4.5% natural acidity on the label. Is it safe to mix with their water? How much per liter should I give?

Also, is it fine if I handfeed them some small pieces of chopped garlic? Would it still be effective? They wont drink garlic water. I also posted this in the thread.
    Thanks!

Thanks sky! Cane vinegar is color white. Can I give it to her? How much per liter do I need to put into her drink? Also, how do I give her the yogurt or kefir? Do I mix it with their drink or with the feeds? Or handfeed it to them? Thanks a bunch!

Hi Sky! I seem to have a problem with posting replies. I can't reply to the thread. Been trying since last week. ACV is not that accessible here. Can I give them cane vinegar instead? Also, do you know of other probiotic alternative that is easy to find in a supermarket? And how to give it to pigeons. Thanks again!

    Hello!

I have been reading some of your post. You seem to be a vet or an expert in pigeon health.

I am new here, so please bear with me.

I'm wondering if you can help me with one of my pigeons. She has severe diarrhea. She was purchased last June 22, 2014 with her brother, which is healthy. They stayed in a box for 6 hours when I went back home since I bought them while on a business trip. The seller said that they are about three or four months old and haven't bred.

Her poop is very watery with a small amount of feces in the middle. The liquid is clear. There is no blood or anything. Just plenty of clear liquid with some small green feces(no white color). I noticed that she is drinking so much more than her brother. They are German Beauty Homers, which means they are larger, thus the watery poop causes the cage(plywood flooring) to be wet all the time. I have to clean it every morning and evening because it makes the floor slippery and smelly. They both eat a lot. But after eating, she puffs up all the time. She is kinda thin at the moment. Well, thinner than her brother. I'm worried it will worsen. I live in a province in the Philippines so we don't have a local bird vet. The available medicine is for fighting cocks, which is very popular here in our country.

I feed them pigeon pellet mixed with GMP3(I assume this pellet feed is for fighting cocks) because the seller said it is what he is feeding them. Before feeding, I always give them fresh water in the morning and afternoon. I cannot isolate her because I only have 1 cage. I just hope her brother doesn't get sick too. If you can give me some tips on how to take care of her and what medication to administer. Specifically, the dosage and frequency. Thank you in advance!

Hi Skyeking, apologies about bothering you...bread balls coated in the powder arent going too well; struggling is huge. Would it be alright if we mix the powder in with the water you think? Extremely frazzled here. He stresses out enormously, like a vampire when it comes to garlic, ha. Thankyou

Skyeking, to enclose it...we made little balls from bread and coated them in the powder. Theres a lot of powder in that capsule wow, for first time, we gave ten balls worth. What do you think of this method? Whats neem oil good for? I heard neem leaf tea is great for birds. Thanks :)

Neem oils palatable so it goes easy? He has an aversion to garlic, not a fan at all this last week. I"ce been giving him tiny 3-5mm by 2mm pieces of soaked xlove...about two or three pieces a day. can garlic harm his stomach? He has begun eating peas and these tiny green peas (they look like the ones you pop out of beans), and for the last three days, his droppings have been forest green. Formed nicely with white capped top but forest green. I dont know if i have messed him up with the garlic pieces or if its the peas or if its aspergillosis. Noone has told me nor can i find it anywhere what a aspergillosis dropping looks like. :/ so im having a heart attack here trying to figure things out.

My vet finally fou d the time yesterday to explain the 236dolloar dropping culture he did weeks ago. The first dropping grew dark grey mold and the 2nd grew white hairy asper mold which he says means its in the bird. But the third doesnt show nothing but strep. So now he has changed his mind about doxycycline and wants me to put pip on flugillin. I am so mad i have no words.
Meanwhile pip is still sort of bobbing, breathing better but still open neak slightly and heavy exhale plus making those kazoo noises. otherwise eating nesting walking and cleaning preening...maybe a bit quieter in talking regularly like used to but well, still talking.

Hi Skyeking! So this allicidins the right one to use, good. I worried it says the product contains parseley and noni or something along those lines...

What about bread balls that are wet with oil first and then coated with it? His beak is absolutely tiny and crisscrossed and i dont see the full capsule going down it at all. He is a small bird, one yr and ten months.

Hi Skyeking, how are you? :)
You commented on some of my threads about garlic and allicin. Well, I'm expecting a delivery of this Allicin product - you gave me this link - http://www.satorihealingcenter.com/store/Allicidin-Complex-60Vcaps-Premier-Research-Labs.html

The assistant emailed me it can be used on pets, birds included, and told me to use it daily for 14-21 days.

What do you think of this? Your advice on how I should administer it, and for how long?

I was thinking dip bread balls in the powder and put it down his throat...
Can Allicin in your opinion be used to stop the progression of Aspergillosis????

Thankyou so much for telling me about this product :):)

Hi Syeking, I am writing about bird fancier's lung. I kept 2 diamond doves, 2 budgies, 2 indian ringnecks. I got some symptoms, mostly a morning cough/phlegm and then lack of stamina on exersize. Had a lot of tests from the doctor, lung function tests, chest xray and they looked normal. However they wanted me to a Cat Scan and I didn't want that. I am asking about what your symptoms were, how did you know you had the disease? they tell me to get rid of my birds but they don't know for a fact that I have the bird fanciers lung. Turns out my pulmonologist tells everyone to get rid of birds, even if they have no symptoms! I really want to keep my birds and wondered how you knew you had the problem? Thanks for any insight.
