Hello all. If you need to contact me, please do it via EMAIL option (go to a thread, click on my username next to a reply of mine, and click the send email' link)....please do not contact me via the PM option, as I do not check these PM's often, and my visits to this Forum are not as frequent as they used to be. Thanks, and bless y'all...

Hi Jaye, I wrote to you a few days ago about my sick Timisoara Tumbler. I've been treating with Foys 4 in 1 medicine beginning on the 23rd. After 3 days of no progress I doubled the dosage and the following day, Wednesday, this bird pooped up a storm. Its stool looked normal to me but it had an intense greenish coloration and fecal matter on it rump. I cleaned it off and force fed it along with going back to the recommended dosage of 4 in 1. It did not appear to change much. This afternoon I received some amoxicillin in the mail and gave it a full tablet which was recommended for a Homer. I have not force fed it today but it appears to have eaten some of the feed in its cup. Hoping for an improvement tomorrow AM. Also bad news. When I went to the loft to feed and water my birds I found a dead Timisoara Tumbler which had not shown any previous signs of being ill. Tomorrow, I will clean the entire loft and place new litter, wood shavings, on the floor. I will sprinkle some flower of sulpha and perhaps spray some lysol disenfectant in the nest boxes. I will also go to the pet store and pick up some antibiotic medicine and place in their drinking water. Thanks for your advice. Bill

Hi Jaye, I live in San Francisco, I think that is where you are at? I have a feral pigeon and I think she might be sick. Was wondering if you can help me with some suggestions, of what might be making her sick?

Jaye no issues since my first loss, well actually I decided to take 1 bird out for a 3 block turnaround and he never made it home, I should have taken 2. I'm down to 10 that are about 5 months old, I also have a fleet of 20 that are getting use to the area and still in the loft. I have noticed that one of my older birds is wheezing I have checked its mouth and its clear, any ideas what can cause this? Also wat size band is standard for white homers? Thank you again.

HI ! um you replied too my thread about the pigeon i found i was just wondering my family is feeling really bad about it and since she is getting medicated and everything at a friends do you think if she does start flying in the next couple of weeks she does get better and able to fly ( she wont have that opportunity as she is in a crate getting her energy back ) that if we took her back and placed her in a hutch(dads even considering giving her the whole shed) that she will come back to our house for food ? as a homing pigeon im just thinking since she has had no real free flight anywhere that she would learn our house is food and thats where she should come back ? i hope this makes sence :p aha . well thank you have a good day :D

Your my hero. You really care about the birds. I'm one of your biggest fans. Plus you know so much when the birds get sick. I'm glad your around. min

Hey... I was going trough your profile and I read Mindy's comment. I looked up the story, and well... I feel identified those guys xD. I am not at all favored by my looks; sometimes I look a bit punkier than what I'd like to (punk bands t-shirts, Bad Religion backpack... which symbol is a crossed out, like prohibited, christian cross, they're not anti-christians and I'm not either, but it's like their logo to annoy people) and people don't exactly see me as an animal lover either xD. I normally share any kind of food I can with sparrows (I am a total sparrow lover!) or go around feeding stray dogs, and when I started, people stared like WTF, the antichristian kiddo is helping animals. Sometimes is a bit funny, but sometimes it's kinda annoying to be seen like that :p. I started using less and less bands t-shirts, but I keep my ol' trusty backpack. And sometimes it misguides people. I have learned to not judge by the looks of somebody xD.

Jaye, I just got done reading some of your old threads, and I just want to say you have a great heart. I love the story "this almost made me cry". I wish my husband was more like you. He will help an animal, but he probably wouldn't go out of his way like you do. I think its great. mindy

Hi Jaye my name is Brooke and i was in SF today and found a baby pigeon on the sidewalk in China town scared to death and around 2-3 weeks old. I couldnt find it in my heart to leave it there to get steped on and die so i hide him in my coat and brought him home with me on Bart lol. I live in the Concord area. I went to petco and got him the bird baby formula and a syringe feeder. he is eating well and very alert. He likes to pick at his formula and not have it squirted in his mouth though not sure if it matters what way he is fed the food, i figured as long as he is eating.... if that is incorrect please tell me. I am also worried because he cant walk yet not sure how far he fell from. I heard he shouldnt be fed at night is this true? he stays warm by himself should i still have him on a heating pad or is he fine at this age? thanks so much if you could find the time to answer a few of my questions. I just want to see him grow up so bad. he is extreamly cute. Thanx I hear you are the person to ask
