Hello, you seem to very knowledgeable and nice, as well as active on the site. Your photos are great. I have a pigeon crisis. I just joined the site and cannot see where/how to post a new thread so that's why I'm sending you a private message. I live in Paris, France, where a pigeon couple has nested in my window box. I am a complete neophyte but learning a lot via the internet. Two eggs were laid 4 days apart. The first hatched on day 18 and the second started to crack the same day. over 4 days later, it has not hatched. It has a hole about 3/4 inch (2 cm) wide and you can see that a squab has formed inside and the little beak tip is near the hole. It is not moving and looks dry. Nothing has changed for 3 days. The parents keep sitting on the egg. The first squab, born Sunday night or Monday morning, seems vigorous and just opened its eyes. Both parents are feeding it. My question: is there any hope the 2nd egg is going to hatch and that the squab inside is alive? If not, will the parents likely nudge it out of the nest? The pigeons are wild and I haven't touched anything. Thank you for any advice. Best wishes, PigeonParis
