A brilliant article, they are fascinating birds, are you aware of any breeders in the Uk?

Very interesting and informative.

When I had mine back in the early days (1960's) I found them a very calm and quiet breed which I kept in the same lofts as birds much less than half their size.

The breed is actually more popular in Europe. I have herd story's of 400 Texan pioneers at one show in Europe.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about these beautiful birds.

I had never heard of this breed until you joined the forum so I'm happy to now know about them. You did a terrific job. Thank you.

They are also known as auto sexed Texans or auto sexing Texans.

There is only one UK breeder, they brought the birds over from America a few weeks ago... I find the auto sexing factor in then fascinating, they're such an attractive breed.

does anyone have any pioneer birds for sale? I have one pair but would like another pair so they are not related. Prefer non recessive red only because i already have the recessive red pair.
