Older young birds trained. New older birds?I have birds that are several months old that are trained to come back to my loft. I rescued six young birds from bad conditions they were never flown where they were. I am not sure of their ages but they were born sometime this year can I let them out with my birds or will my birds follow them away if they leave?

I have had luck settling older youngsters by giving them a bath in really soapy water and letting them set out on the landing board. I use a 5 gal. bucket with Adams flea and tick dog shampoo. Get them really wet. There is a good video of this on Dr. John Lamberton's website. I don't let the other birds out when I do this, that way there is no persuasion. Also, do it in the afternoon and make sure they are hungry.
