Cock does not sit on the Eggs.

Hi need help! Is there is anything I can do to make one of my Cocks sit on their egg? It's on hen that is sitting on the egg. Currently i have place their latest eggs on a pair of sitters.

How long ago was the egg laid? Usually before the second egg is laid they may not sit tight on the first one but when the second one is laid they will sit. This way they hatch around the same time.

I removed the eggs on the 7th day when i noticed the Cock was not sitting on the eggs and it was only the hen. I had the Sitters on stand-by. I have observed it the 1st time it layed 2 eggs and only 1 was fertile. It was only the Hen sitting on the egg all the time. The egg hatched but the chick died the next day.
