If it is eating a sparrow I would say sharp shinned hawk.

I’d say male Cooper’s based on body size & tail shape. They’re an Accipiter or short winged hawk. Accipiters are kind of like the cheetahs of the bird world having long tails & short broad wings that allow for very impressive bursts of speed coupled with amazing maneuverability. I have both Cooper’s & Sharpshins that make occasional visits to my loft.

If it flies a Cooper’s will chase it regardless of size. I’ve witnessed them chasing both ducks & sparrows.
