6 day old pigeon fell out of nest and is having breathing trouble

Hi,
I found a baby pigeon at work Friday evening, on the ground and cold, with a broken nest around it. I don’t have any experience but am learning as I go, and he eats well and appears to be getting stronger. However he makes a “popping” sound when breathing heavily, like after eating, when excited etc. when he’s asleep no sound. A small air bubble bulges under his right wing but only when he inhales, so there’s not really anything for me to pop as the air isn’t trapped. It’s definitely uncomfortable for him, he stretches his right wing out and has the right leg tucked up, although he has improved slightly today.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

dear lswindler,--squabs require mothers milk-[KAYTEE-exact formula]-mix according to directions,-feed with syringe-every few hours-feeling the crop[belly-infront]-it will bulge out.careful not to over feed..good idea to weigh him[KG]-before and after meal--please keep warm constantly 102-105 degrees.--he will back up to poop-so have tissue, etc there..-appears there maybe damage-this will have to be accessed-and may heal on its own..sincerely james waller
