Diamond Dove doesn't coo anymore

Hello to all and thank you for dropping by to read my text.
I currently own a diamond dove and have owned him for about 7 years now, so far hes well and alive, he flys around, he eats, he flys over to me and hangs out, but here's the issue: he no longer coos, he hasn't been able to coo for over a year, it's absolutely heartbreaking, if there are any tips or tricks into how a dove just loses its voice please let me know.

thank you

Maybe he has no reason to coo? Put a mirror inside his cage, this will keep him company and maybe he will start responding to his own image. Otherwise, a female will be a much better option.

thank you for your reply, I have tried getting him a female but that was bad news, I also have him outside of the cage where he has the ability to fly around a lot, he also has a mirror.

How did you introduce the female to him? They need to spend time apart from each other (seperate cages next to each other) to get used to each other. Then, after a couple of weeks, let them both out and see how they react to each other. If you do the introduction to quick, the male will just defend his territory and the poor female will suffer.
