Help

I have a pigeon which I believe has broken it’s leg, it can’t walk or fly, I’ve put a make do splint on the leg and taped it there, it’s now in a comfy box which is lined with soft materials and bread and water, how long will it take to heal? Should I release it?

No, plse don't release it. Can you post a photo of the pigeon? He might be a young one not able to eat by himself. Instead of bread (which is not very nutritious) rather put down a dove/wild bird seed mixture for him. What does his droppings look like?

It’s in my garage so it’s safe and warm, in a comfortable box, we have given it flapjack which it absolutely loves and break also fresh water, it looks like an adult pigeon, the poo is what I’d call normal, sometimes green in colour or dark, not hard or solid, pigeon seems to be comfortable it try’s to stand but can’t it flaps its wings and eats a lot, I stroke it and it’s completely fine with it, he tried to eat my finger haha, I don’t want to let him go until he is recovered, how long would it take for his legs or leg to heal

Can you post a photo plse? Sounds to me like a young pigeon. Be carefull about putting him outside, he might just take off and if not ready, well then he won't make it.

No bread or flapjack (what is that btw?). Put down a decent seed mixture for him, he needs nutritious food now.
