My little buddy is not well.

My best friend who joined our family six years ago has a droopy wing, she can still fly but not really well. She preens the droopy wing joint. This morning stools were quite green. She just vented a runny one with blood. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Can't you rather take her to a decent avian vet?

Hi, do you know a good vet who cares about pigeons? A vet visit and lab tests could help to identify the source of the health issues.

A droopy wing + green watery droppings with blood could make me think about salmonella, here you can read some informations about the disease:

Have you noticed if the droopy wing joint looks swollen (that could be another symptom of salmonella)? If so, he could preen it because annoyed by the swelling/lump.

If it's salmonella, an antibiotic treatment is absolutely needed; when I cared about a pigeon who had it my vet gave us enrofloxacin (Baytril).

The best thing, if possible, would be to consult a good vet; salmonella is just one of the options (I immediately thought about it because of the droopy wing). Just for example, greenish watery droppings could be a sign of coccidiosis (in severe cases there could be even blood).

Please keep us updated.
