pigeon with broken toe

Hi,

we have a pigeon about 6-7 weeks old, she hurt her leg two days ago, and she is still limping. I checked briefly and her limping leg didn't look like broken. Although she is sitting most of the time and doesn't want to stand (she can stand for a short time, and walk a few steps), she is still eating fine.

Right now I just keep her in a box with some cloth underneath to keep her warm, placed food and water close to her.

Is there anything else I could do, or watch out for?

anyone has similar experience? will the leg heal by itself, and how long will it take?

thanks
Simon

Update: I just found out she has a broken toe. I found this post:

but it might be too late to brace it with cardboard. Any advice will be appreciated. thanks.

thanks for the advice, although it's too late and she has lost the toe. i've cleaned her up and she is recovering, and eating well.

I see that her leg seems stiff, probably from sitting too long, and not using her leg. I'm worried that she won't be able to use that leg again. Should I try luring her to walk, or should I leave her alone and recover herself?
