Pigeon hurt after hitting window

We found a pigeon laying on the sidewalk near a large window. It looks alert but it's not walking and it's resting on it's breast with it's legs splayed behind it. I've called a wildlife rescue group and left a message. The bird is in a box in a quiet worm room. Any suggestions on what else I should do? My eight year old daughter is waiting anxiously for the bird to get better....

Its leg is bent you mean? Like the leg looks broken?

Regarding wildlife rescue group please make sure they are trustworthy ! most rescues euthanize pigeons.

Food- Give it some bird seed in bowl preferably good pigeon mix

Water- keep in separate bowl. Gently deep beak But the water should not go above nostrils !

Probotics- Can you get some full fat greek yougurt and put small amount in mouth? Also get some apple cinder and put 1 teaspoon in water it will help him with his crop.

Other care- Keep him in quiet room where it isn't too bright. The poor thing must be scared to for now just let it calm down.

He may be in shock. Hope not injured too badly. As Dotty has said, I would leave him in a safe room in the box with some toweling under him to give him some padding. Leave him with a small crock of water and some bird seed. Not in the dark, as he won't eat or drink in the dark as he won't be able to see. Just not bright lighting. Keep every one away as to not stress him. He may feel better after some rest. If not, then he may have internal injuries or other injuries. He may have been being chased by a hawk or something. Windows reflect the sky and trees and it looks like a place to fly through. That's why many birds hit windows. I use the UV reflecting decals on mine. Hope he hasn't broken his legs, or gotten a spine injury.
