I agree with jay3, this time of year I see more egg bound and depleted calcium issues, because of the long winter, then in early spring breeding behavior is stimulated by the longer sunlight, but calcium is still low. The calcium stores she had were little, lack of sun..and then it was used from her own bones, so that is why they go lame or have egg issues , and calcium helps the muscles push the egg out, if she can not they can die.
