Stressed and injured pigeon

Hi all! Today while going to my office, in tje main street of my town I noticed a pigeon whose leg was hurt. He couldn't walk properly or fly. I grabbed him and put in a box and took him home. I gave him water and corn but he did not touched it. For whole day he stayed in the corner of the box with his eyes widely open. I don't know what to do because he seems so scared. Now is the night but he does not seem sleeping. I can't take him to the vet before Monday. What should I do tomorrow? Should i take him from the box and leave free to come out of it? His feathers do not look nice, especially wing feathers. Thanks so much in advance

Could you pls post a photo? Thank you for helping him. Not all pigeons eat corn ( ours wont). If you can offer him pigeon mix or wild bird seed he can pick out what he likes.

This morning i gave him wheat which he happily ate 🙂 His leg is hurt so he stands on one foot keeping the other one in air. This is the picture of him 🙂

Aww, he looks like a baby. Anyways, if the leg is injured you could check for sores, small scratches, swelling. If he can put weight on it to walk, even if it's a limp, there's a chance that it could get better. If there are any sores, use a type of cream that's used for wounds on dogs and cats. I can't think of the name, but it will work for birds too. His leg will probably recover. Just give it time. I had a pet ringneck dove who lost his leg after an accident. He adapted very well and was even able to jump up on his perch sometimes. If he's otherwise healthy, he'll probably be fine. They're very adaptable. Good luck with your little friend. Also, pics if the injured foot might help.

His skin was red after I gave him bath with just water. Otherwise is pink and featherless. His tail feathers, back feathers and under one wing feathers do not seem to grow and ther are 18 days from the moment I found him on the street 😞 I posted some pictures on Feathers problem topic. Any guess what it might be the cause and cure for such condition? Many thanks
