In designing and building my first loft, I have looked at many pictures. It seems that the traps are always above or near the aviary. Is there a reason for this or can I locate my trap on the other side of the loft from the aviary?

I just bought an adjoining property. There is a 12x12 shed on it. I wish my son were here to help me post pictures but, alas, he's at the teen street dance. At any rate, it's an old chicken coop. Hasn't had animals in it for at least ten years. It's all wood construction and the siding is what...

Hello everyone, I was making my trap door and I was wondering what design of trap door works better: the bobs, or just or the traditional piece of wood pointed inwards? I heard the pigeons might hesitate with the bobs, is this true? Thanks

A little background.... I built an 8 x 16 loft last year, and started a white bird release business. Things are going fairly well, I've at least been able to pay for their feed, which isn't bad at this point. But now I want to start racing! Several of my friends in the local racing club...

Hi, I will be building a portable aviary for use at fairs, schools, etc., to display pigeons. I have show cages but think a larger display where the birds can fly will be more interesting in some settings. It will need to be easily assembled/disassembled. Anybody already have such a design or...

I'm building a new bigger cage for my ringneck dove Pearl. Hopefully Pearl will have 1 or 2 new companions coming in the next week. The new cage is ~4.5' long x2.5'x2.5'. I'm thinking if I put a couple perches width wise near the ends then they can have room to fly across the length. Does...

Well, it's taken about 3 times as long to get this far as I hoped it would. Georgia ends up having 2 snow storms and more rain this winter than in the past 10 years. Aside from a 2nd coat of paint and the hardware cloth, I'm done. 6'6' x 8'6" prisoner loft (for now) 7'6" inside height. It...
