I just found a fledgling on the side of a highway.
She is alert and is able to perch and her wings look okay. But, one does not seem to fully flap. She is not pecking me and makes small squeaking noises when I pick her up, so I think she is a fledgling, but looks like an adult.
I have a wild pigeon family at my balcony.
The stronger bird seems like it keeps attacking the weak one.
The weak one is limping and not growing.
Also I have never seen him fed by his mum.
Is he abandoned?
What should I do?
Hi, I am posting again...after reading a lot, i realized my recent rescue has a severe case of splayed leg. it bends very backwards and the fledgeling is likely a month old/ maybe 2 tops.
I have tried foam and binding...the leg always turns backwards. I am not sure what to do as the fledgling...
