I live in the 6th floor & my fear was that the box was going to rip & they were going to fall. I made a...

Hey guys! So I have lots of birds, a huge aviary, lots of poultry, and etc, but sadly no pigeons. I have always wanted some but my parents are not hugely into adding a whole new setup for a new animal since they'll have to look after them all when I go off to uni in a couple of years. Anyway...

I put my 2 pigeons outside in an aviary with a covered entry to our shed that has their cage on the inside of the opening. They don't don't go in at all though, even when it's raining and they appear cold. Anyone have an idea why? Is that normal? Vanessa

It rained here in our place after a very long gap. Lot of thunder and lightning. This morning I bound all my birds' wings to prevent them from using other places to land apart from our terrace. All of them were sticking out on the terrace but none returned to the loft during the rains. They were...

  8. Wild or 'Feral' Pigeons
Hi, I'm new to the forum and joined because I have a question. I'm currently living in India and our new apartment came with an established pigeon nest which they cleverly built inside a broken plastic bucket on the balcony. Its been great fun watching this pair and in our first month they...

I may have to build a boat just to get to my birds. I have a 10 foot 6 inch deep pond forming in front of my babies. I have to put my hip waders on just to feed them. Thank God I built the loft a foot off the ground. And I hear its suppose to get harder through the evening. I hope everybody make...

Hey everybody question about flying in the rain. I know people don't fly their pigeons in storms and such but I was wondering if anybody flys them during a light misty rain with no wind? I made a attached sun box for my birds to hand out in during nice sunny days and I caught a bunch of them...

I've noticed my pet pigeon used the bird bath 4 the 1st time but only while it was raining, is there a reason why they do that? Does rain remind them 2 bathe the rest of their feathers, Cody looked like he was having fun too & would a pigeon like it if u pat them on their pin feathers? If the...

Looks like the storm has just arrived here in the Los Angeles Area. I think this time, my loft can withstand it. I put a big plastic cover on top just to make sure the birds stay extra dry :D Anyone else taking extra precautions for the storm? I hope your birds stay warm and dry :) God Bless Kevin

  16. I found a pigeon or dove - now what?
Hello. About a week ago (Forgot exactly when), a pigeon had nested right outside my bedroom window and laid two eggs on the nest. Unfortunately, it began to rain today, and the location of the nest does not have any ceiling to shelter the bird and the eggs from the rain (also it can get pretty...

Is there anything wrong with letting the birds fly in the rain. Not Now too cold, but last summer we get hit was some showers and sometimes the birds were out and seem to not want to trap and eat because they liked the rain. Today they kept flying back and forth to the trap like they wanted...

Just thought I'd see how folks fared with Hanna. She swept through here overnight, dropping 5+ inches of rain in our back yard - more than at the coast! Everything is wet. We had some wind but nothing scary and there is some flooding in some areas. Our babies seem to have fared well. I hope...
