How does this work, you send your pigeon to that address, they train it, feed it until the race day. and if your bird comes home first you win 10grand? What bands do i have to band the bird with? Also can you do this if you don't belong to a club? Can someone explain in detail?

This is what is called a futurity race.
You can send your bird to the person who accepts the birds that are mailed.
Pay the entrance fees.
Your bird will then be trained by one of the handlers (You can pick someone if you like www.capitolcityclassicrace.com has the list of handlers and their phone numbers)
If your bird wins the race you get 65% of $10,000 plus an extra $500 for being an out of area bird that won.
Winning 65% of $10,000 depends on if there are 500 birds entered into the race.
If its less than 500 birds the amount won is smaller but the breeder will always get 65% of what the bird wins.

Are you an AU member or IF member?
You can use AU or IF bands you get from your club.

You can start breeding for this race next month if you like.
Or the following month.
When ever you normally start breeding for young bird race season.
You have up until June 1st to get the birds over to us.

I was asking because i don't race, so i don't belong to a club. I am going to enter this because i think it would be fun, something i can do with my dad, and see what my birds can do. If i have to get bands from a club, then i know a couple of people that belong to clubs that are five minutes away from me. I am thinking of entering two birds.
But again, i have never done this before so i dont know how everything works in the event.

I asked about the bands and you can use whatever band you would like.
As long as its a seamless band and has to be a 2010 band.
