Let me first say that this is not a joke of any kind: I have purchased 7 new homing pigeons to add to my loft - they are all youngbirds ready to be homed, and have been settling in to the loft nicely. 2 days ago I swear I heard one quacking like a duck! It stopped by the time I reached the loft, but did it again yesterday: it went "coo...coo...quack...quack..coo...coo...quack....quack" and kept the pattern up while I watched.
How normal is this?? (You must understand that I feel a little apprehensive writing about this in case you all think I'm gaga - after all, he won't repeat the performance for family members!)

Youngsters will make a duck like sound when their voices are changing. It will gradually change to a roo-koo.

Thanks for the feedback; you know, between the cooing of the pigeons (with the odd quack) and the ghost-like woo...wooo of my bleeding heart dove, this place is sure starting to sound weird!
