At what age do you move babies to floor and if loft isnt seperated how to set up something for them in my loft.
I have small L shaped loft with aviary and only 3 pair and 2 squabs, so far. My loft isnt seperated. Just getting started with pigeons. My squabs are 10 days old so trying to prepare. I read they need to be placed on floor for exercise at 15 days old. Is this correct? Any suggestions on how and where in loft to put them? Do I completely keep them from adult birds? Nice looking loft,
no, your babies should not be placed on the loft floor at 15 days. Your nest boxes appear to be a good size.
I would not remove the babies from the nest box until they are 3 weeks old, even if there rearing up the next clutch of eggs. Don't rush them give them time. If you plan on training for the upcoming young bird race season, I would get them up on your landing board at about 4 weeks to educate them to their surroundings, and trap training.
