Anybody Know This Band - SPC 2009 499 ??

Received an emaciated pigeon yesterday that had been picked up by animal control. The band has no organization code such as the AU, IF, NPA, NBRC .. only SPC 2009 499. The band is green in color with black lettering. The bird is in very poor condition and may not make it, but I would still like to try and locate the owner. Though I can't be sure, I'm guessing that the bird comes from somewhere here locally (Orange County / Southern California).

I wish I did know. What happened to the every number being accounted for.
At one time no band was sold without it's point of sale recorded. It has become a free for all, except those selling the band's.
I'm going to talk to Karen, at the AU.

Apparently, the owner did not want a lost bird to be traced back to him or her ? For what reason would someone order a band like this ? I don't know Brummie that the AU will be able to help in this matter, you would have to contact the pigeon band manufacturer....now how many of those could there be in the world ?
And what exactly would you say to them ? Especially if they are located in China ?
Brummie,

This isn't an AU band .. if it was, then I wouldn't have to be posting here about it.

There are a number of band manufacturers that could have made this band, and I've contacted them. The odds of finding the owner are slim, but I'm trying.

I think this is someone's personal band and that the bird is from somewhere here locally. Just trying to shortcut the time it takes to trace the band by asking here.

It kind of doesn't really matter as I am doing the best I can for this bird, and the bird is either going to survive or not .. hopefully the former. If the bird makes it then it can either go home if the owner is found and wants the bird back or it has a home here with me.

Good luck with him, I hope he gains weight quickly and recovers soon.
Is that some roller club somewhere around there? I thought I've read about SPC before, but I don't remember where.
I know this is really far out...

The first thing that popped into my mind was "Sacramento Pigeon Club." Is there such an organization???

Sure hope the pij makes it!!

These guys seem to use the initials FSC but maybe they'd know something.... A web write-up says there are 8 Pigeon clubs in Sacramento.

Fort Sutter Racing Pigeon Club, Inc.
3235 23rd Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95820
Phone (916) 452-2582 (452-CLUB)
Found Them!

SPC is Spanish Pouter Club. I've spoken to a member there tonight and e-mailed a link to a picture of the bird. The club was ID'ed by a member of the Los Angeles Pigeon Club who also provided the contact information.

This bird does not look like a pouter of any type to me, but that doesn't mean it didn't get a pouter club band. Also, the gentleman I spoke with said it might be a "sporting" pouter and not really look like a pouter .. I don't know, but at least I'm making progress here.

Here's a pic of the bird:
