I live in San Jose, CA and have a pair of mourning doves that build a nest in my back yard every year. This year their baby has a problem. He/she appears to have splayed legs. He looks like what I can gather to be a fledgling. We've been taking care of him for 4 days now, but are not very knowledgeable or equipped/ he wants to fly so bad. We named him/her Sweet Pea. I was feeding him by pipet at first, but on day 3 he stated to eat seed on his own. We made a contraption to bring his legs together & have been trying to exercise him and assist.encourage him to use his legs. He does push back some. PLEASE, hopefully someone out there is more eipped to give him a chance at life. I am sure he would have died if left with his parents. He has a lot of spirit and appears otherwise very healthy. Thank-you, Linda
