i found a dove egg in my pool yard, the other egg was broken. Does anyone know how to care for a newborn dove when it hatchees? Any info will help

It's very difficult to raise a dove/pigeon from day 1. Rather discard the egg.

I would but the egg is half developed. I have raised a pigeon from egg but not a dove, do. You know what to feed it.

Their needs are the same as for a pigeon baby. The food given will be less. You will need a handrearing formula for baby parrots, Kaytee Exact.

Oh, ok that’s good, I have always used roudybush for day old pigeons and exact for week old squabs or older, so I’m gussing to use roudybush for this dove

I wanted to ask if I should use a heat lamp or pad for the dove I did with the pigeon

A heatpad will be fine.

Egg is starting to hatch!!!! Just to make sure, why do you prefer the heated and not the lamp

I guess you can use both. I'm just guessing here: won't the eyes be a bit sensitive when they open by day 4 or 5? And then gets exposed to light from the heatlamp?

I feed every 2-3 hours, I have sneaked my baby pigeon to school for the first week and I’m doing the same for this guy. Don’t tell on me🤫

I put a hand warmer in a sock and he sits on it inside a box in my locker
