Put a bowl of feed in the nest box. The parents will eat from it and teach the baby how to eat. Usually by 20 days, if you do this, they're eating pretty good on their own. The parents will still feed them some but they DO learn pretty quick.

how old does a baby pigeon start eating on his own i have a baby bird that is 20 days old and it is still being feed by its parents but sometimes i see it trying to eat some feed from the ground, it stays in its nest most of the time but is now moving around to another empty nesting box near by.
