I have noticed that Baytril is one of the most often recommended medications on this site, anticipating that someone would tell me to get some for my bird with leg problems I looked in the new Foy's catalog but didn't see it. I asked Jerry at Foy's today why?? He told me the Government pulled it and it is no longer available??
If this is true what is everyones next best choice?

I'm a bit confused by this - Baytril (aka enrofloxacin) is still very much on the market - we purchase and dispense it daily, tablets and injectible. Baytril suspension we have compounded by a pharmacy (Wedgewood, I believe).
If either Baytril or cipro will do, cipro is far less expensive, just fyi.

Check out also meds for cats and dogs. I buy Baytril 'palatable' tablets over the counter. They're for cats or dogs, but it's easy to adjust the dosage. I find the pigeons accept it very well because it doesn't have the bitter taste of other compounds.
