Pigeon looks like has broken neck. Two other pigeons standing with it or close by. This is since 4pm today and I cant get help. When I approach it it does fly a tiny bit but with head still hanging. It's really bothering me, I dont want it eaten by another animal. Please advise. Should I keep him in box overnight?

The posture looks like a symptom of illness. The bird may need supportive care (including assistance eating) for weeks. If you are able to provide care for the bird, or to transfer him to someone who could, then please do bring him in.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I've got my husband put of bed and we have drive down ans picked him up. There were cats fighting in the alley so I'd say they would have def got him soon. I have him in a towel in a box. I will call someone tomorrow to see if they can help further

He might have paramyxo virus, the nervous system gets affected. He will probably get euthanized at a rescue centre as this is highly contagious to other pigeons and he will need supportive care for the next 6 weeks until the virus has shed. In nature they starve to death as it's impossible for them to eat. Hydrate him by gently dipping the tip of his beak (not over the nostrils) in a small bowl of water. You can handfeed him a few defrosted green peas by putting one at a time deep inside his beak over the tongue. Also leave a deep dish of seeds with him, they sometimes figure out how to eat by themselves. What do the droppings look like?
