I have a couple of birds that seem to have a slight respatory problem and the only thing I could find to get them on today was Oxytetracycline. My ?'s are can I mix the Oxy with there vitamins and should I do all my birds with the oxy as a precaution? and the best I can figure is 1/4 teaspoon of Oxytetracycline to one gallon of water and the same for the vi-tal.
If in doubt, take the grit out and give the medicine the following day. Vital is okay to give unless it has probiotics in it, in which it would be kind of pointless since the meds would kill the good bacteria anyway.
Calcium in the crop or gizzard gets absorbed quickly and I agree with Becky. Take it out today and start medicating tomorrow.
