Hi ppl,
:) Quick question, I spotted some hard mucous like growth on the outside of the nostril of a young bird I have [ less than 3 months old] I think it may be canker. I have access to 'Flagyl' [Metronizodal] here and wanted to know the dosage, we get it in pill form here. Also how should i administer it to him/her? break the pill into small bits? there is no growth/smell in throat/elsewhere. I'm expecting some through replies [esp. from you, 'plamenh' ;)], thankx in advance. Peace.

Can you post a pic of this?

A growth on the outside of the beak could suggest possible pigeon pox, or dried nasal discharge, if there is no indication of canker in the mouth/throat.

Altgirl35,
Sorry about that. We get 'Flagyl' in 100mg pills.
John : hmm didn't think about that, I'll try to get a pic. Actually, since you mentioned this, I'll wait till I get a good pic then start the meds if needed. Thanks you guys. :)
