Late last year I noticed an almost black pigeon starting to hang around the empty building behind mine. It would come and go and I didn't see it for months. Then about 2 months ago, I had to go into the building (I'm the super) and found a nest with 2 babies in it. So I let them be. Now I have these beautiful fledglings and no clue what they are.
The flock is use to me as I rescued one last year and raised it and released it. I sit outside on my porch each morning and talk to them. The problem is that the owner of the building is selling and the empty building is to be boarded up so the birds can't get in anymore. I can go in and clear the building, making sure there are no birds in the building but will the young ones be okay?
I have been thinking of taming the young ones and bringing them with me but not 100% positive on the idea. I run a very small private rescue and operate on a fixed income. I deal in exotic pets (mainly small furry animals). Except for the one bird I helped last summer, I have no experience.

SO, what should I do? I am also looking for anyone in my local area (Ashland, Pa) for advice, help and such. The last thing is...what are these birds? Any clue?

thank you,

Liz

The youngsters (depending on exactly what they are) will need to be hand reared and weaned-depending on their age.

The link does not work.
