My Dove has something wrong with her eye. I thought it was an infection and took her to the vet. He looked at her and said the same thing, gave me an antibiotic eye drop and had me bring her in for 4 straight weeks for an antibiotic injection. I have attached a picture of her eye this is still after a month of treatment. Does any one here know why this won't heal? It is always watering and I wipe it out but it comes right back. She keeps scratching at it or wiping it on her shoulder which doesn't help. Thanks to anyone that has any input, I feel bad for her.

Can you provide a clearer picture of her eye? Perhaps the vet needs to perform a culture or sedate her to do a closer examination to rule out foreign debris, injury, growths, fungi, or even rare mites, protozoans or other pathogens. There can be many causes to conjunctivitis, or occular hypersensitivity or discharges of fluids, not just from bacteria.
