Samantha Janus is best known for playing feisty Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders, but in real life the actress is a bit of a softie.
She apparently told the Beeb how she took care of an injured racing pigeon in between takes on the BBC One soap.
"The poor thing was limping around the set of Albert Square," she said. "He was not only tired, but injured too. So I've taken care of him."
Sam also informed the Racing Pigeon Association about the bird's condition. She said the organisation is now trying to find its owner.
She revealed: "He is now in a shed, at home in my garden. We've called him Albert after where he was found.
"The Racing Pigeon Association is trying to contact the owners, but I'm not sure they would want an injured bird - but if they don't we will keep him as my kids are already attached to him."
