I am short on places to divide my birds. I havve some blue bar and white homers, who are divided. My goal is to work up to 30 miles. This is a hobby for my disabled son. we had a team of around 6 birds last year of the whites. Just are getting blues ready. My problem is they keep pairing up. can I have a team of just females and have luck of selling the extra males? which sex makes the best flyers? if you combine the sexes do you divide them till you let them out to fly together and train apart? Thanks for advice

If your goal is to just fly them around home and some short tosses, I'd just keep them as a "Natural" flock. They'll fly just fine....you can limited the breeding using fake eggs. Raise a few babies and everyone will be happy.
If color is important, you can get them paired up the way you'd like with some work.
If Racing is your goal, then you'll have to make some different arrangements.
You could keep just hens, but they'll pair up and lay eggs until they wise up and just fly off.
