I am just curious to know if there was a survey on feral / wild pigeons willingness to fly without their 9/10th flight . I know homers don't , but they are heavier birds . I figure it also has to do with being fed . A feral / wild pigeon has to foriage for their meal . Seems the 9/10th flight is most important . The 8 th doesn't seem to slow them down . Any thoughts ?

I haven't seen anything in regards to ferals, but I do know that rollers don't like to fly when the last two flights are in the blood stage. It is speculated that they are painful when the birds roll. A lot of folks will lock them down to keep them from developing the bad habit of not kitting. They will stay out of the kit to avoid the roll.
