my yb team is not routing they fly a in a figure 8 pattern. They have been doing this for about three months. Races start in about 8 weeks. Could A short toss boost there confidence. They just don't seem to have an intrest in exploring. it looks like they just race for position in the flock. Has anyone ever had this happen.

I would say they are over fed or in poor health. They should love to fly and be venturing out by now.

I don't know what is up with the figure 8 flying pattern.

I'd start taking them on some short tosses to force things a bit. Might cause some problems for some but they need to get out there!

Figure 8 is just a normal flying pattern for them,, I never really paid much attention to that till a bud of mine pointed it out to me years back,, and I'll be deRned if it was sure as shoot what they were doing.

Sometimes taking them short distances will get them going, atleast that has worked for me in the past. This year was kinda like that,, my birds didn't really want to leave the house till I made them do it,, then after that they started routing on their own. Just take them like a 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the loft and see if that doesn't get them going!!!
