I just lost my wife to cancer this week. I think this is a great idea for a race.

You have my sincere condolences....My wife has fought off the big C for years...Has many health issues because of the kemo & radiation treatments...This disease has ruined many families, with leaving young children missing a parent....My cousins lost their mom at a very young age....My cousins were made to grow up faster then most kids..They had to....It was not their choice.....Best to you A.Smith........Alamo

I will probably sponsor. When is the deadline for sponsoring birds?

I sponsored a team. (I had to do it for my wife) I got this email today.:

Dear FLYFORTHEFIGHT Donors,
Thank you for sponsoring a team or teams for the 2012 FLYFORTHEFIGHT One Loft Pigeon Race Series. The four races will be flown in late September/early October. The birds are growing fast and learning to fly now. Serious training won’t really start until this summer. We will be drawing the band numbers of the birds that will make up your team on Thursday April 19 starting around 5:30 at McFlys (4503 Center Street in Omaha). This will be a family event so bring your kids and stick around for dinner. If you can’t make it, you’ll be able to see the band numbers of your birds and follow their progress from the following website: http://www.racingpigeonmall.com/cgi...reater+Omaha+ATO&pagenum=1&cgifunction=Search. If you want to visit Don Paltani’s lofts, where the birds are being raised and trained, let me know and we’ll make arrangements with Don to make that happen.

We only have 11 teams left so if you know anyone that might be interested in owning a race team, have them contact me and I’ll get them set up. The list of donors is on the FLYFORTHEFIGHT website (http://www.flyforthefight.org/) under “2012 Individual Sponsors.” Additional information on the race series is located under the “Sponsor a Team” tab.

We look forward to seeing you at McFlys on April 19th!

Thanks again.

Update

One of my sponsored birds finished 6th overall average speed. :) I received 2 birds in the mail today. AU 182 the BB that finished 6th and AU 195 BC. My IF 182 went missing after the races before s/he made it to my shipping box (did fly the full series). So was replaced with a young one from same parrents. Race results are at the link below.:).

The birds are beautyful and healthy.Pedigree(s) are also nice to read. I hope they are a pair. I would love to bring this line into my race team.
I look forward to next years race. Great club with a race for a good cause.
