No, don't release him. You will now need to keep him till he is much older and able to fly well and eat all kinds of seeds. His parents have forgotton him by now (tomorrow will be 3 days) and he will starve out there.

You can join the Palomacy Help group for Pigeon and dove rescue. They might refer you to a rescue centre closeby. He will need a soft release when older, as he won't know where to find food. So releasing him to correct way is very important.

Going to dip his beak and see if I have better food to offer him...
Frozen peas....thaw about 25, one at a time open his beak push a pea to back of to gue, close the beak til the dove swallows it. Feed it this way 3 times a day. Keep a clean towel fluffed all around his box so he feels secure, like another bird is with him. Put a lamp with 100 watt bulb over the box, about 10 "s above the dove. They need light. Put about a tablespoon of apple cider vinager in a gallon of water for his drinking water. Hope he lives, he is a beautiful pigeon
