Found a pretty black pigeon with a little white, and a plastic band with "21" on it twice. No other info. We are about 45 miles NE of Atlanta in Ball Ground, Georgia. Contact 770-735-7978!

Seems to be in good health, but WALKED up our long driveway and then flew into a tree. "INTO" the tree. Brought it in and water and food and kennel and it is safe. Seems OK, nothing broken or injured that I can see. Likes people.

HELP!

What is the band with just 21 for??????

I suspect that if it improves, we could just release it and hope for the best...

Can you please post a photo ?

I am a bit concerned about the 'flying into a tree' thang...that doesn't sound like a racer/homer...it sounds like a bird that is NOT acclimated to being feral and would not stand a chance of surviving if just released.

It could be a domestic-bred pet pigeon (you say he likes humans)...or it could be a food pigeon...or it could be someone's fancy showbird kinda pigeon. In any of these cases, it cannot survive on its own. Please don't release her/him until we help you figure out what he/she is....

Hopefully there are some members in your vicinity who will chime in soon....
