Purple band AU 2016 JEDDS 34823

The pigeon appears to be OK to my untrained eye. It rests in the sun by day, and hides under a low deck by night. We have put out water and some mixed cracked grains and seeds.

An attempt to contact the owner via the band registry has not elicited a response.

In addition to the purple band there is a green band bearing “CHN”, “2019-32”, “0062675”, and a 2D bar code. I know not what to do with that information.

Please advise as to how the owner might be contacted, or some other means of finding this bird a home.

@hamlet - If you’re local to Menlo Park, then the bird would probably be in better care with an aficionado.

It hunkers down for the night on a pile of gray sand (fines in landscape speak). I suspect it appreciates the retained heat to keep itself warm on these chilly nights.

Thank you. It (he? she?) has water and grains (pigeon & dove mix). It took a brief (~5 feet) flight this afternoon. It mostly walks from A to B, and appears to be content to rest in the sand pile.
