So after reading many pigeon breeding genetic articles, I've come to the conclusion. Mate a cock with the heart, determination, desire, and homing ability to a hen that can produce youngsters with the health and body type.

True or false? Agree or disagree?

That question can't be answered one way or another.

Determination and desire depends largely on the motivation you create for the individual bird. Heart and homing ability may be traits bred into a pigeon, but, if the hen doesn't have these traits as well, then you don't have much. I think heart is part of the drive to get home, thus, motivation.

Genetics don't let you see any of these. I don't tend to believe in a law of genetics when it comes to performance animals, because you get the same results from every breeding method in existance.
