Today our beloved Isabella crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a very sudden illness. She was a very special bird who charmed everyone she ever met. We were not ready to lose you, Isabella.

So sorry about your loss. What a wonderful picture when you were checking that pipped egg, and she was so proud and gentle.

Thank you Terry, Reti, and Treesa.

I am heartbroken, and to make things worse I found 3 more dead in my loft this morning, and two more died on my way back from the vet's office. (I had rushed the 3 sickest in for a diagnosis.)

Goodbye Alphie, Mister Tort, Silver, Elvis, and Little Red Girl. I'm devastated.

Everyone was fine on Friday, the weather was beautiful, and I had the day off so I got to spend lots of time with them...I can't believe this is all happening so suddenly.

Isabella was a beautiful bird. I think she must've had a happy life with you. She had family, friends, children. I'm sure she was thankful to be a part of your life and family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. There are no words that can take away your pain but she knew she was loved and always remember she will always live on in your heart and memories. Isabelle was very beautiful.

I'm also sorry to hear about the loss of your other babies.

amoonswirl here's the peom

"I'll lend you, for a little while, a bird of mine," He said.
"For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he is dead.

It may be six or seven years, or maybe twenty-three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, as all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this bird to learn.

I've looked the whole world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.

Now will you give him all your love - not think this labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call, to take him back again.

I fancied that I heard them say, 'Dear Lord, thy will be done.'
For all the joy this bird shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shower him with tenderness and love while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.

And should the angels call for him much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand."

If, by your love, you've managed, my wishes to achieve,
In memory of him you've loved; be thankful; do not grieve.

Cherish every moment of your feathered charge.
He filled your home with songs of joy the time he was alive.
Let not his passing take from you those memories to enjoy.

"I will lend to you, a Bird", God said, and teach you all you have to do.
And when I call him back to heaven, you will know he loved you too.

Shi and Karen your very welcome.

Karen, I knew this peom would help you through your grieving.

Shi, I found this peom long time ago and it helped me get through a hard time when I lost my first bird, it made me realize no matter how hard we try when it's time for them to go back home they go and we are left with beautiful memories of them and will always be alive in our hearts. I believe when it's my time, my babies will be there waiting for me. Yes we definitely can. If you want copy the peom.
